SANDPIPER PROJECT
The inspiration for this kitchen came from the rest of the home, done by a friend who is also a designer: Robin Kaskinett, who decorated their family room and sun room. The client is a lovely retired couple in Swan Lake, desiring a home that had a coastal vibe: blue, airy, light! We didn’t change the footprint or appliances. Instead we focused on an aesthetic refresh. We gave the space new cabinetry and were able to incorporate a sun tunnel to meet the clients need for more light. It now has more storage, better function, and a gentle character. We went from dark cabinetry to an airier fresher feel. To bring in the coastal vibe we incorporated blue in the tile, tying in with the blue that is incorporated throughout the rest of the family home.
