HOW WE CREATED THIS MASTER BEDROOM OASIS

Stuck at home for the 7 plus months of this year, many of us have been triggered to find ways to create changes within our spaces. We all want (and need) to fall in love with our homes again! To rest in places that brings us peace and comfort through the chaos.
My clients wanted their bedroom to be an oasis that they could escape to when life became overwhelming, stressful, and too much to handle. So, we created just that; somewhere for them to close the door on the mess of the outside world and a space to truly rest and reset.
Here are some pictures of what the bedroom looked like before we put the transformation in place.
Instead of thinking of your bedroom as just the place where you lay your head at night, transform this space into a piece of heaven with these simple tips!
THE BED SHOULD BE THE STAR
The bed should be the focal point of your bedroom. Not only does it have to be comfortable, but it also has to feel inviting and lure you in once you walk through that door. We chose this beautiful channel tufted bed in a soft grey chenille fabric, my clients already had a mattress and foam pillows to elevate the comfort, but investing in the luxury and softness of the bed, immediately transformed this room.

And don’t forget that decorative pillows contribute to the lusciousness of the bed. They further invite you to lay down and relax in peace and comfort.

ADDING POPS OF COLOUR
A strong feature wall in a deep rich navy, Benjamin Moore Hale Navy, elevated this room and was the perfect back drop to the beautiful channel tufted bed. The moody wall added big impact and another layer of richness and warmth to the space.

White is a great way to create a sense of calm and relaxation and we used Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace on the 3 adjacent walls. But to offset the neutral colour walls, we brought in colour through the bedding, accessories, rug and wall art.

ADDING NEW PIECES OF FURNITURE
When creating your dream bedroom, now is the time to get rid of items and furniture that doesn’t work in your room and bring in furniture pieces or elements that will transform the space into your bedroom oasis.
We incorporated some budget friendly durable and classic IKEA pieces from the Hemnes collection, and gave it a touch of elegance by adding these beautiful yet simple gold knobs.

ADDING PERSONAL TOUCHES
To succeed in making your bedroom an oasis, be sure to add some personal touches. Bring in items that make you feel happy and good inside. We brought in a purple glass candy jar that doubles as storage for delicate jewelry pieces, plus purple is my client’s favourite colour. We also brought in a gold plate for her to place rings and watches on right before turning out the lights.
As with any design, the finishing touches are crucial in elevating the feeling of the space where these details tie it all together and bring the space to the next level.

Not only were we able to create a sanctuary for my clients to escape to within their own home, we also created this beautiful space by incorporating a mixture of high & low pieces. Proof that mindful spending and thoughtful design go a long way!
Close your bedroom door, and let the rest, relaxation and romance begin! Your dream master bedroom oasis awaits!
